Description

Ten years ago Jordan Weiss suffered the devastating death of her boyfriend Jared, a gifted rower at Cambridge. Since then work as an intelligence officer has taken her to the world's hot spots where she has faced terrible dangers. However, it's the thought of returning to England that haunts her most.

But when Jordan learns that her best friend, Sarah, is terminally ill, she transfers to the State Department's London office to be close to her.

In London, she and rakish agent Sebastian Hodges are assigned to an investigation into mafia activities that quickly throws Jordan into a whirlwind drama of lies, cover-ups and corruption. Who can she trust? As she desperately tries to pull the pieces together, secrets start to emerge that are strangely connected to her past and will ultimately shape the course of her future . . .

Reviews
An interesting, unexpected thriller, this tries - and succeeds - to mix romance with the dark arts of espionage . . . Written with a flair for place and irony, it paints a very different portrait of the macho world of spooks than the one we're so often treated to, but is none the worse for that. Blessed with an edge-of-the-seat ending, Jenoff's third thriller is the antidote to Bond, leaving you stirred, if not shaken' DAILY MAIL * 'Pam Jenoff has taken a new twist on the spy novel . . . if agent Jordan Weiss may not be exactly the next James Bond, . . . she may be a very credible, arguably more human, female alternative' THE TIMES *
Part thriller, part romance, Jenoff's story is a tidy package of secret financing, organised crime and a bit of stuff on the side' TIME OUT * 'A thrilling story, imaginatively told' CHOICE *
Her best book yet . . . A credible and nail-biting story . . . The Officer's Lover is a real treat' LANCASHIRE EVENING POST * '...a masterly job of blending romance, friendship, loyalty, greed, spies, the political ambitions of the rich and powerful, and a bit of shady World War II history into a suspenseful and multilayered novel' LIBRARY JOURNAL *
Read this if you love an edge-of-the-seat thriller with a dash of romance...a killer of a novel!' NW MAGAZINE * 'An enjoyable, pacy thriller' HERALD SUN *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
