About the Author
Claudia Martin has worked in book publishing for 17 years. She is the author of several books and websites for children and young people. Her favourite subjects are history, current affairs and technology. Born and bred in Kent, I always loved painting and drawing and wanted to do something in Art when I grew up. I studied at The Kent Institute of Art Design specialising in illustration, after graduating I started working on encyclopaedias and interpretation boards, while building up my portfolio which led to work in the publishing and magazine sectors. Above all I love to capture detail whilst working mostly in watercolour, as well as acrylic and pencil, but I also enjoy the softer feel of pastels for landscapes. I am now proudly represented by Advocate Art and it's being with them that as enabled me to branch out into other areas of illustration, such as greetings cards, books and jigsaws which I love.
