Description

Edgar nominee Victor Methos delivers the next high-stakes case for Detective Lazarus Holloway and Piper Danes, where a kidnapping at a Vegas chapel unveils a sinister plot that hits close to home.

The abduction of two teenagers from their Vegas wedding isn't a case Detective Lazarus Holloway wants to take-it's one he has to take. His only clue is a bracelet, etched with a Mayan symbol of death and vengeance-two things the detective is familiar with.

With no other leads, Lazarus enlists the help of guardian ad litem Piper Danes. They've got a complicated history, but Piper shares his compulsion to save children in need, no matter the personal cost. Unfortunately, that cost gets higher with every new revelation.

As they tread further into the dangerous network surrounding the case, secrets from Lazarus's past follow close behind. He soon finds himself entangled with the players in this game of life, death, and disappearances. And if he can't figure out how he fits in, there may be no getting out...

About the Author
Victor Methos's journey into the world of law and justice began at the age of thirteen, following a profound personal experience where his best friend falsely confessed to a crime after enduring an eight-hour interrogation. This pivotal moment steered Methos toward a future in law, culminating in a law degree from the University of Utah. Starting his career as a determined prosecutor in Salt Lake City, he soon established Utah's premier criminal defense firm, showcasing his prowess in more than a hundred trials over a decade. One case in particular left an indelible mark on Methos, inspiring his breakthrough bestseller, The Neon Lawyer. Transitioning from the courtroom to the writer's desk, Methos has since dedicated himself to crafting gripping legal thrillers and mysteries. His exceptional storytelling has earned him the prestigious Harper Lee Prize for The Hallows and an Edgar Award nomination for Best Novel for A Gambler's Jury. He currently resides in southern Utah.

"This book is a creepy thrill." -Leslie Zemeckis, Montecito Journal

"This gritty thriller is a fantastic but disquieting and scary-to-think-about start to the series. The author's experience as a lawyer added to the authenticity of the courtroom and other legal aspects of the plot. Gripping scenes and a well-crafted and riveting plot hooked me from the very beginning. It is unsettling at times, but this is balanced with thoughtful moments of Piper with her grandmother and with Sophie as well as some emotional scenes. The book was a page-turner that kept me engaged throughout the storyline." -Pam Guynn, Mystery and Suspense Magazine

"The Silent Watcher by Victor Methos is a real page-turner from page one. Methos weaves a narrative that is both emotionally deep and full of nail-biting suspense...Methos's writing is witty and charismatic, making it impossible to put down. The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
