Description

In this vibrant bouncy new collection Debra focuses on poetry for younger children (Key stage 1 & 2). It's a wonderful collection of reflective and soothing poems, poems for performance, rhyming poems, silly poems, puzzle poems and 'carpet' poems. Debra says: 'Writing The Moon's Gorgonzola has been a joy. I'm a great believer in poetry for (especially) younger children being accessible with language they can understand and topics they can relate to. I wanted the book to have a great sense of fun to light the poetry spark that is in all of us! It is a poetry book to be used in school and at home. I write about everyday life and the strange, funny, sometimes sad things that can happen in school and at home. However, it has come with its challenges and a feeling of responsibility to 'get it right.' Pitching the content and language at just the right level for each Year group was very important'.

About the Author

Debra Bertulis has been a writer of poetry, plays and stories since she was very young. When she was ten, her mother bought her a typewriter to type her stories on and she's been writing ever since. Her poems appear in many anthologies as well as on the LAMDA examination syllabus and are performed at Festivals across the world. Her debut collection of children's poetry Where Do Wishes Go was published in 2022 by Otter-Barry Books.

Zoe Williams graduated from Bath Spa University in 2022 with an honours degree in English Literature and Publishing. Scared?, published by Troika in 2022, was Zoe's first published work of illustrations. An aspiring artist from day one, Zoe could always be found drawing, creating, and thinking about new ideas. She received a sixth-form arts scholarship, which inspired her to illustrate stories herself, focusing on her love of drawing by creating quirky characters and scenarios. Zoe is now at Bristol studying for a Master's in graphic arts. Zoe plans to pursue a career as a freelance illustrator and hopes to contribute to more books in future.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
