Reviews
Praise for The Teenage Prayer Experiment Notebook: The Teenage Prayer Experiment Notebook is quite unlike any other book on prayer I have come across ...The beauty of this book is that it does exactly what it says on the cover- it is experimental and totally non-didactic. It releases and encourages the participant to think and try-out for themselves. ... I thoroughly recommend this book for students in church groups, schools, clubs, your own children, grandchildren and godchildren and, actually, adults who would welcome thinking more widely about how to pray * Amazon Review *
Prayer can often be taken to be as a one way talk to God either through ready written liturgical prayers or a spouted off shopping list and I wanted an easy to way to introduce [my son] to the concept that prayer is both conversation and spending time with God. I have to say that the book has been even better than I expected. The first night he didn't want to put it down, and kept coming over to tell me how exciting it was and all the things he was going to try. * Amazon Review *
I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book for my teenage son but its pure brilliance. The prayer ideas really connect with the youth of today and having a space for them to record in gives them ownership of the book. A must buy for any teenager (or even an adult!) * Amazon Review *
The text would be useful to anyone who wants to pray, whether or not they are adherents of an established faith. This book should prove useful to all those who have responsibility for encouraging the spiritual growth of others, such as clergy, prayer group leaders, spiritual directors and retreat leaders. -- Hilary Pearson * The Times Literary Supplement *
The book seeks not to teach about prayer, but rather to encourage individuals to try prayer for themselves in a multitude of ways and include full instructions for trying it out. There are a number of different and innovative ideas for experiencing prayer differently. As the author says in her introduction "The way to encounter God and find out about praying is to give it a try. -- Lynne McNeil * Life and Work Magazine *
