JEAN-CLAUDE CARRIERE He is one of France's most renowned contemporary writers and has received the Prix Goncourt for his novel, La Controverse de Valladolid (1992). His extensive theatrical credits include adapting The Mahabharata for Peter Brook and Proof for David Auburn. He wrote the screenplays for The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Tin Drum, Cyrano de Bergerac, and many others for directors Jacques Tati, Jean-Luc Godard, Milos Forman and Luis Bunuel... The Little Black Book was first produced in France as L'Aide-Memoire where it received great critical and public acclaim.
