This isn't your usual country house mystery. It's a vivid portrait of rural life at a time of great change, especially for the women. In its Wiltshire setting and depth of research, it reminded me of The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, but Katherine's wonderful descriptions and characters make it sing. The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
