Description
'The Hands of the Pianist' tells the thrilling story of Charles Vincent, a talented pianist from the French countryside, who is inveigled into the English Special Investigative Service. It is 1939 and, as war threatens to engulf Paris, he becomes involved in the Resistance in France. Escaping the Nazis' tightening net, he travels across the Pyrenees arriving in spy-ridden Lisbon. Returning to London by destroyer, he is entrusted with a mission to Leningrad to assist the Russians. There he discovers whom he can and cannot trust, before catastrophe threatens his classical musical debut at London's Albert Hall.
About the Author
Robin Vicary went on a short story course at the City University in 2017 taught by Katy Darby, and left determined to write a novel.
He has written:

An Adoration of Beauty' (2021) - a fast-moving suspenseful story based on the travels of a painting of the Adoration of the Magi, from its creation by Sandro Botticelli in the fifteenth century in Florence to present-day London.
'How the Light Shines' (2022) - an exciting thriller of diamonds, romance and espionage set in 1930s South Africa and England.
'The Society of Intelligent Murderers' (2023) - a 'soft' Christie-like detective tale set in London and France in the 1970s, culminating in an unexpected climax
Robin lives with his family in North London, where he previously was a gastro-enterologist.
