About the Author
Professor Adam Balen is lead clinician at one of the UK's largest and most successful IVF units at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. In recognition of his research on fertility and related conditions, he holds a DSc (the highest academic degree in medicine) from the University of Leeds. Adam is internationally renowned, holding roles with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Federation of Gyneacology and Obstetrics (FIGO) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gyneacologists (RCOG). He runs both NHS and private fertility clinics so he understands the issues that arise from both sides and he works closely with fertility patient support organisations across the UK. Adam regularly features in the media on all aspects of reproductive health and lectures widely throughout the world. Dr Grace Dugdale is a reproductive biologist and nutrition scientist who has developed a unique approach to addressing fertility problems through many years of research into biological function in sex and fertility. Grace runs the fertility and preconception care clinic at Nuffield Leeds Hospital and sits on the All Party Parliamentary Group for Sexual and Reproductive Health. Grace has made numerous TV, Radio and festival appearances, and in 2017 she founded Balance Fertility, a company offering evidence-based, holistic fertility services for women and men.

Reviews

Knowledge is power and, in the disempowering situation of struggling to conceive, this book is an absolute game-changer. Whether you're brand new to the world of fertility or you've struggled for a while, this book is a beacon of clear, detailed information. It is an amazing resource and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is even considering having a go at conceiving!'

-- DR XAND VAN TULLEKEN, TV presenter, Honorary Associate Professor, University College London

This unique, patient-centred book provides high-quality clinical and scientific information, but with an emphasis on a holistic approach that seeks to empower readers. Comprehensive and authoritative, it is written in an easy, accessible style that makes it a pleasure to read and understand. Everyone concerned about their fertility should read it - and so should the clinicians looking after them!

-- DR RAJ MATHUR, Chair, British Fertility Society

An utterly brilliant book. Fully comprehensive and reader-friendly. I wish it had been around when I was on my own fertility journey.

-- JESSICA HEPBURN, founder of Fertility Fest

Inability to conceive is tremendously stressful for many couples. Whilst there is no shortage of information, it is difficult to separate what is credible and evidence-based from wishful theories and anecdotes. This is where The Fertility Book makes a unique contribution, by synthesising and presenting credible evidence to inform one's fertility journey. If you are struggling to have a baby, make time for this book. It will help you.

-- PROF ARRI COOMARASAMY, Director, Tommy's National Centre for Miscarriage Research, University of Birmingham

This book has all that most need to optimise their fertility. It clearly explains the science in ways that should help couples feel empowered when it comes to making what could be some of the most important decisions of their lives.

-- DR EDWARD MORRIS, President, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
