Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead (1981) is one of the most inventive and energetic horror movies of the last 40 years. Lloyd Haynes is a freelance film journalist who graduated in Film & Television Studies at Brunel University, London, and has contributed to such publications as Exquisite Terror, Strange Things Are Happening, Video Watchdog and We Belong Dead. His research interests include the horror film, cult and genre cinema and 1970s popular culture.
