Description

IF YOU DON'T KNOW SIMON SCARROW, YOU DON'T KNOW ROME!

THE EAGLE'S CONQUEST is the thrilling second novel in Simon Scarrow's bestselling Eagles of the Empire series. Essential reading for fans of Bernard Cornwell and Conn Iggulden. Praise for Simon Scarrow's compelling historical novels: 'Gripping and moving' The Times

Britannia, AD 43. Bleak, rainy and full of vicious savages, Britannia is a land that Cato, solider of the Second Legion, wishes Rome didn't want to conquer.

And as right-hand man to Centurion Macro, Cato sees the very worst of his native Britons, battling alongside his commander in bloodier combat than he could ever have imagined.

But the Britons are fighting back with Roman weapons - which means someone in their own ranks is supplying arms to the enemy. Cato and Macro are about to discover even deadlier adversaries than the British barbarians...

Time is running out for the Roman invaders. The second novel in Simon Scarrow's popular Roman series

About the Author
Simon Scarrow pursued his great love of history as a teacher before becoming a full-time writer. His Roman soldier heroes Cato and Macro first appeared in 2000 in Under The Eagle, and have subsequently fought their way through over twenty novels, including Rebellion, Death to the Emperor and Centurion. Simon is also the author of the Criminal Inspector Schenke thrillers, Dead of Night and Blackout, set in Berlin during the Second World War, as well as: the Wellington and Napoleon quartet, chronicling the lives of the Duke of Wellington and Napoleon Bonaparte; Sword & Scimitar, the epic tale of the 1565 Siege of Malta; and Hearts Of Stone, set in Greece during the Second World War. He is the co-author with T. J. Andrews of Roman era bestsellers Pirata, Invader and Arena, and the co-author with Lee Francis of the contemporary thriller Playing With Death. The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
