Description

The Challenge of Jesus makes the arguments laid out in Jesus and the Victory of God accessible to lay readers. Bestselling author and theologian N.T.Wright does more than just rehash these arguments: he adds a discussion of the resurrection, and addresses the prickly problem of relevance. In the first six chapters of The Challenge of Jesus, Wright tackles many of the questions of the historical Jesus debate. He then moves on to address how all these historical-cum-theological issues are significant for Christians living in a postmodern world. The Challenge of Jesus is ideal for those beginning academic studies or just wanting to go deeper with their Christology and understanding of the person and work of Christ.

The Challenge of Jesus is a modern classic investigating the reasons for the historical impact and life-changing significance of Jesus both then and now by bestselling theologian N.T. Wright.

About the Author
N. T. Wright is Research Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of St Andrews. As a bestselling author and theologian his recent books include Paul and the Faithfulness of God, Paul and His Recent Interpreters, The Day the Revolution Began and Paul: A biography (all published by SPCK).

Reviews
"In this compelling historical picture of Jesus, Prof. Wright breaks new ground in his research and analysis and sets before the Church a very positive vision which will bring inspiration and encouragement to those endeavouring to commend the good news of the Gospel amid all the turmoil and confusion of the postmodern world." -- George Irwin, The Church of Ireland Gazette
"Wright guides readers through the life of Jesus, drawing on the messages from the Old Testament and offering insights into New Testament accounts of the life of the Son of God. As always, Wright's work is written in accessible rather than academic language, with an inherent appeal to a popular mass audience." -- Life and Work

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
