Description

A hilarious fantasy, perfect for ages seven and up, by master storyteller Terry Pratchett - the first book he ever wrote!

In the beginning, there was nothing but endless flatness. Then came the Carpet
Then came the dust, which fell upon the Carpet. From the dust the Carpet wove us all.

From the dust came us, the Carpet People.

In the fronds of a carpet, there are tribes and people, families and brothers.

This is a story of two of those brothers. This is the story of the evil Fray, sweeping a trail of destruction across the carpet. And the story of an adventure to end all adventures . . .

'Incredibly funny . . . compulsively readable'
The Times

Master storyteller Sir Terry Pratchett's debut novel.

About the Author

Terry Pratchett was the acclaimed creator of the global bestselling Discworld series, the first of which, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. In all, he was the author of over fifty bestselling books which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. His novels have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. He was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was to avoid writing any.

Only a writer with a masterstroke of imagination could place an entire empire of goodies and baddies within the fronds of a carpet * Daily Mail *
Carpets are never the same once you've read this . . . Terry Pratchett's carpet empire is an enchanting and insightful commentary on how different people in any worlds interact. * The Observer *
For readers who are attracted to epic but not quite ready for the weightiness of Tolkien, this is a perfect entree; for those who have loved or will love Pratchett, it's simply a must read. * Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books *
The perfect starting place for young readers . . . seasoned Pratchett fans will just revel in his wit, his subversion of tropes and his sense of humanity. * Kirkus *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
