About the Author
William Bligh (1754-1817) was an English explorer and famed member of the Royal Navy. He joined the military at a very young age, holding multiple positions including able seaman, midshipman and sailing master. His momentous career is often overshadowed by the infamous mutiny on the HMS Bounty, led by Acting Lieutenant Fletcher Christian. Bligh would go on to detail the event in A Narrative of The Mutiny, On Board His Majesty's Ship Bounty; And The Subsequent Voyage of Part of The Crew, In The Ship's Boat.
