'This book was first published in 1909! It is a rather stunning introduction to different kinds of mushrooms that includes the kind of folks who represent these mushrooms and what they do during the day. The illustrations are wonderfully done and the book is nothing short of fascinating.'
--Youth Services Book Review

'Illustrated in a classic style reminiscent of Elsa Beskow and Sibylle von Olfers, "Tales of the Mushroom Folk" is a lovely picture book filled with natural detail of the woods and meadows where the mushroom folk live. Enthusiastically recommended, "Tales of the Mushroom Folk" will prove to be an enduringly popular addition to family, preschool, elementary school, and community library picture book collections for children.'
-- Midwest Book Review

'Tales of the Mushroom Folk is a whimsical introduction to various mushrooms that can be found in nearby woods and meadows as spring turns to summer and finally autumn. Each page showcases a different type of mushroom family with a vignette and accompanying illustration. With basic facts about mushrooms woven skillfully into the narrative text, youngsters are sure to remember the names and characteristics of their favorite mushrooms. A personal favorite is the stinkhorn mushroom which features a wicked stinkhorn witch who is responsible for the pungent stink.'

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
