From the Dunkirk evacuation, Sussex became a front-line County and a likely invasion area if the German's launched their feared attack. About the Author
Cliff Mewett has lived in Sussex all his life and developed a keen interest in its history. He was born in Hastings and attended Hastings Grammar School before embarking on careers with the Prudential and Post Office which eventually led to a move to Bognor Regis. Concurrently he spent eleven years as a commissioned Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Training Branch and is Chairman of the Bognor Regis Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. To date he has published eight books on Sussex history. Apart from Sussex history he has a collection of classic British Motor-Cycles.
