About the Author
Oran Tkatchov's educational career has included such roles as a middle school teacher, high school teacher and charter school director. He has an additional 11 years of experience directing, presenting and providing professional development in the areas of special education, leadership and school/district improvement at the Arizona Department of Education. He currently supports professional learning initiatives for the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. He received his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, is a Level 1 Google Certified Educator and a certified facilitator for the National Institute for School Leadership. Shelly Pollnow received her Ed.D. in Policy and Administration from Arizona State University, her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and Elementary Education from Arizona State University and her B.S. in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University. She has spent over 20 years of her education career in Arizona teaching diverse learners in Grades 1 through 6 as an inclusion classroom teacher as well as a gifted program teacher. Dr. Pollnow has also been involved in professional development for teachers and has nationally presented her research on implementing professional development in formative assessment at the classroom level. She has been the Arizona Director of the National Assessment of Educational Progress and international assessment programs since 2011 and has served on the Formative Assessment for Students and Teachers CCSSO SCASS since 2012.
