Description

Post-pandemic dependence on tech is shattered by the glitch, a cyber-attack, which temporarily knocks out power and communication networks. Hoping to escape society, securing a peaceful life off grid, Robin is thwarted, becoming stranded in Oxford when an unexpected second glitch strikes. Desperate to make it back to Caernef Camp, Robin recruits three companions and is joined by a mysterious gate-crasher. Through a series of bizarre circumstances, the group is pulled into a conspiracy. Competing gangs challenge assumptions about progress and prosperity. With the future of society again at stake, who holds the key to stop the glitch?

About the Author
Following the publication of 'Zade', published in May 2020 by Austin Macauley Publishers, Chris Malone is the first female thriller author to join the ranks of Burton Mayers Books. She has worked for over 30 years in education and has championed women's groups and outdoor activity centres in England and Wales. Her second novel #stoptheglitch is a dystopian thriller set in a post-pandemic world where a technological 'glitch' threatens the very fabric of modern civilisation. You can expect it to hit the shelves at the end of October 2020. Follow on Twitter @BurtonMayers or Chris @CMoiraM for more details

Reviews
'Malone's book is more than entertaining. It will heighten your awareness of how vulnerable our civilization has become, and of our own potential for good or evil when the lights go out. I'm not saying I'd welcome such a Glitch. But if it comes, I'll keep Malone's novel (in paperback) close by for inspiration and maybe guidance.' Dan Klefstad, US author and radio host;'I Thoroughly enjoyed reading this from beginning to end. Very current, mixed with a bit of conspiracy, politics and suspense.' Selby Dickinson, Centre Director The Hill End Outdoor Centre;'The story is very relevant to what's going on in the world.' Matt Elofsen, Banbury News and Leamington Courier;'The style of writing packs a punch! Every word counts!' Liz van Santen, musician;'I really enjoyed #stoptheglitch. The idea of cyber-terrorism and the internet 'going down' is a completely believable set-up, and the notion of having to go back a step, to once again need to value low-tech, manual and/or rural skills, is oddly appealing.' Juliet Blaxland, rural architect, writer / illustrator

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
