Description

Following the successful release of multi-series trading cards based on the original Star Wars film series (1977-83), Topps released the first volume of its Widevision series in 1995. These special cards were just as tall as the standard Topps trading cards but twice as long-a format that better reflected the widescreen dimensions of the films. Now, for the first time, every card, as well as rare promotional cards and limited edition chase cards, are reprinted in one deluxe collection. This new volume includes the fronts and backs of each card, showcasing original storyboards, fun facts, filmmaker quotes, behind-the-scenes photos, and exclusive commentary by George Lucas. Also included are four bonus cards, rare promotional images, an introduction by Gary Gerani, the original editor of the Star Wars Topps series, and an afterword by Star Wars collector Stephen J. Sansweet.

About the Author
Gary Gerani, author of Star Wars: The Original Topps Trading Card Series, Volume One; Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back; Star Wars: Return of the Jedi; and Star Wars Galaxy, is a screenwriter, author, noted film and TV historian, and children's product developer. He is best known as the co-writer of the film Pumpkinhead; the author of the book Fantastic Television; and creator, editor, and writer of literally hundreds of Topps trading card sets since 1972. Gerani lives in Los Angeles, California.

The Topps Company, Inc., founded in 1938, is the preeminent creator and brand marketer of sports cards, entertainment products, and distinctive confectionery.

Stephen J. Sansweet is the author or coauthor of numerous books (many of them on the Star Wars saga) and is the president of Rancho Obi-Wan, a nonprofit museum that houses the world's largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Sansweet is the former director of content management and head of fan relations at Lucasfilm, as well as the Los Angeles bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal. He lives in Northern California.

Reviews
" Another delve into the Topps vaults brings us this mid-'90s collection of A New Hope letterboxed trading cards, featuring freeze frames (including such Kodak moments as Luke's relatives' remains), storyboards and behind-the-scenes pics/nuggets. Plus a fascinating/horrifying set immortalising the changes made for the '97 Special Edition (such as that fish-lipped CG Jabba monstrosity - never forget!)." * Total Film *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
