Description

The year is 1160 BCE, and the great Pharaoh Rameses has been laid to rest - or so you thought. When a precious scroll leading to his hidden tomb is stolen, it is up to you to track down the culprits, protect the treasures, and survive the secrets of the Valley of the Kings.

Armed with your courage, quick thinking and the built-in survival spinner, you must decode ancient hieroglyphs, escape wild crocodiles, and outsmart desert dangers as you race against time to stop a robbery that could shake the kingdom. Every decision matters. One path could lead to triumph. Another to disaster...Can you catch the culprits and ensure the pharaoh's rest goes undisturbed? Or will you fall victim to the dangers of the desert?

Spin to Survive: The Pharaoh's Curse is an interactive gamebook packed with puzzles, peril and surprise. With each choice, the story shifts, and no two journeys are ever the same! Along the way, you will uncover fascinating facts about ancient Egyptian life, death and myth, all woven into the adventure itself.

This thrilling hands-on read is perfect for brave explorers aged 8 to 12 who love challenge, mystery and a different ending every time.

About the Author
Once a children's book editor, Emily Hawkins is now a full-time author. Her work has been featured on the New York Times bestseller list (Oceanology, 2009) as well as winning the Children's Travel Book of the Year Award (Atlas of Animal Adventures, 2016). Along with her background in children's non-fiction Emily has a strong interest in myth, folklore and storytelling, and has written several titles in the Lost Atlases and Spin to Survive series (Wide Eyed Editions). In 2020 she wrote A Natural History of Fairies, which has been translated into twelve languages, selling more than 100,000 copies worldwide. R. Fresson makes illustrations that nod to the past. She hand-draws in pen and ink, then colours digitally, inspired by the print processes of early 20th century comics and magazines. Her line-work is lodged in the ligne-claire style, made famous by Herge, Joost Swarte, Bob de Moor and Theo van den Boogaard among many others. Humour is an important aspect to R. Fresson's work and she continues to develop a witty practice with a dextrous vintage aesthetic, working with clients including the New York Times, Monocle, The Guardian, GQ and The New Yorker.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
