Description

Abandoned by his mother when he was young, twenty-two-year-old Rave Wayne knows all about loss. That doesn't mean he's used to it. After he's dumped by the girlfriend he assumed he'd spend his life with, Rave is longing more than ever to connect. Then, as if by miracle, he receives an invitation from his grandfather, a man he thought was long gone, to come for a visit in rural Tennessee. Loyal, honest, and loving, dear old Tuck is everything Rave could have hoped for. He's family. Soon, Rave finds himself falling for a down-to-earth local girl, and he thinks his life is finally coming together. But the past isn't through with Rave. When his mother returns after many long years, looking to reconcile the terrible mistakes that once defined her, Rave struggles to put together the unsettled pieces of his heart. Will this once-estranged family be able to come together to understand the meaning of unconditional love, the fragile bonds of family, and the healing power of letting go?

Reviews
"Engrossing and genuine, Something Like Family pays tribute to the bonds of love we often fray, but always hold dear. The uplifting story of Rave and Tuck will leave an indelible mark on your heart." -Christine Nolfi, bestselling author of Sweet Lake and The Comfort of Secrets "Heather Burch takes us on an emotional journey that explores the deep roots of family, honors those who serve their country, and affirms the transformative power of forgiveness. Something Like Family will resonate with you long after the story ends. An outstanding read!" -Patricia Sands, author of the Love in Provence series "Heather Burch paints the fine details of relationship dynamics with the strokes of a master. In Something Like Family, she tells a poignant tale of love, loss, hope, and redemption that resonates beyond the final page." -Nancy Robards Thompson, author of An Angel in Provence and What Happens in Paris "I was drawn into this story from the very first pages. It is a lovely, heartwarming read and I highly recommend it! The story of Vietnam veteran Tuck and his estranged grandson Rave is a poignant, compelling tale of second chances, forgiveness, and the sometimes frayed but indelible bonds of family. All of the characters were authentic and true and I was thinking about them long after I turned the last page." -Jane Healey, bestselling author of The Saturday Evening Girls Club

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
