Description
"We have specified Barnes as the core Geotechnical Engineering textbook since 2006. It provides excellent coverage of the topic and our students find the style accessible. The use of case studies and worked examples are particularly useful to students." - Professor Tony Price, University of Warwick, UK "A very comprehensive book from the basic theory right through to design and application. Worked examples within each chapter show the procedure with a clear demonstration of design to limit states. I will certainly recommend this resource to my students." - Dr Emma Britton, University of South Wales, UK "The point that distinguishes this text from others is the effective interplay between theories and application as demonstrated through the numerous solved examples based on real-life problems. With this edition the author has managed, more than ever before, to narrow the gap between scholarship and application in geotechnical engineering for the benefit of our current and futureengineers." - Dr Slobodan Mickovski, Glasgow Caledonian University, UK "This textbook provides a comprehensive overview of soil behaviour for civil engineering students at all levels. The worked examples are clear and concise. An excellent resource for students and geotechnical engineers alike!" - Dr Danielle McKelvey, South West College, UK
