Soon after Pope Paul VI promulgated Sacrosanctum Concilium more than forty-five years ago, a small group of liturgy specialists replaced the liturgical reforms mandated by Sacrosanctum Concilium with a more secular liturgy. As a result, most Catholics are unfamiliar with the document's actual direction. The contributors to this volume seek to restore those elements of worship lost to these secular interpretations, such as the sacred music, art and architecture, scripture and liturgical translation, and the relation of the liturgy to the mission of the Church.
