Despondent, he is on the verge of leaving Switzerland when he meets Elisabeth Klossowska in 1920. She becomes his lover and muse and finds a tower for him to complete his great poems, the Duino Elegies. He dies six years later at the age of 50 from leukaemia. About the AuthorThis is Farrol Kahn's first foray into fiction after 12 books on non-fiction. Rilke, a biographical novel was a major work and has taken him a decade to complete. It involved following the German poet's tracks in Switzerland and giving talks to the Rilke associations in Germany while still a work-in-progress. Recently, he has founded the Swiss World Art Forum in Gstaad which promotes art philanthropy. It encourages arts-led activities to enrich lives of others.
