Sir Richard Benjamin Richardson, aka Richie Richardson, is a new addition to the University of the West Indies Press's Caribbean Biography Series. This volume in the series provides a rich account of the life and work of one of the Caribbean's sporting icons who has contributed to shaping a generation of athletes who are now considered to be global sporting icons. Among those who grew up under Sir Richie's leadership as a captain of the West Indies Team is the iconic batsman, Brian Lara who himself went on to lead the team as well.

About the Author
Densil Williams is Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Mona Campus. He is a Professor of International Business, former Principal of the UWI Five Islands Campus, and also the former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Industry/Academic Partnerships and Planning at The UWI. Professor Williams has built a career in business and academia for over 22 years. He has held a remarkable record of public service, research, and scholarly work while serving on a number of boards of state entities, private sector organizations, and committees, as well as regional and international editorial boards.
