Description

The most personal and tender novel yet from Patrick Ness, the twice Carnegie Medal-winning author of A Monster Calls.

The most personal and tender novel yet from Patrick Ness, the twice Carnegie Medal-winning author of A Monster Calls. It's Saturday, it's summer and, although he doesn't know it yet, everything in Adam Thorn's life is going to fall apart. But maybe, just maybe, he'll find freedom from the release. Time is running out though, because way across town, a ghost has risen from the lake... This uplifting coming-of-age novel will remind you what it's like to fall in love.

About the Author
Patrick Ness is the award-winning and bestselling author of the Chaos Walking trilogy and the critically-acclaimed novels A Monster Calls, More Than This and The Rest of Us Just Live Here. John Green has described him as "an insanely beautiful writer". He has won every major prize in children's fiction, including the Carnegie Medal twice. He's also written the screenplay for the film of A Monster Calls, now a major motion picture, and the BBC Dr Who spin-off, Class. He lives in London.

Reviews
It is a well-known fact that Ness can write. He writes simply yet effectively and knows how to tug the heartstrings. His writing is straight forward yet at the same time, very lyrical and compelling. It just draws you into the book until you have to know more more more. -- Sprinkled Pages * Sprinkled Pages *
Ness's writing is powerful and his characterisation of Adam is complex and believable. -- Bookrapt * Bookrapt *
In his latest book, Patrick Ness does not hold back any heart punches. This book left me feeling emotionally battered and bruised, but also enlightened and awed. This is a story firmly grounded in reality but seamlessly interwoven with supernatural elements which serve to highlight and deepen the emotional impact. -- Booktopia Bookshop * Booktopia Bookshop *
Over the course of just one day we progress through fear, confrontation, awakening love, sexual harassment, loyalty, brotherly love, parental boundaries and so much more. Patrick Ness is one of YA's most powerful authors, this book cements him as a very special author. -- Great Escape Books * Great Escape Books *
This uplifting coming-of-age novel will remind you what it's like to fall in love. -- Australian Independent Booksellers * Australian Independent Booksellers *
I really liked the way the author didn't shy away from writing the grittier subjects, like heartbreak and sex and complicated relationships. All these elements were written about in such a raw, honest way, and that's what I loved this novel for. -- Written Words Worlds * Written Words Worlds *
It was precious and raw and simultaneously heartbreaking and hopeful. -- Paper Fury * Paper Fury *
Ness' prose is exquisite. The ease and pulse of the writing meant that I devoured this book in just under 24 hours, whilst taking in every detail described. I felt at home in this story, despite some of the unfamiliar territory it covered -- In Words and Ink * In Words and Ink *
Ness has a beautiful turn of phrase and writes some punchy dialogue. It felt rich, sensory and sensitive. Overall, a thoughtful, thought-provoking piece. -- Golden Adventures * Golden Adventures *
This part of the story is open, and honest, and is bound to hit you right in the young adult nerve center. * 100% Rock Magazine *
Release by Patrick Ness is a masterpiece and also a gut-wrenching tale that spreads over just one day. * Boomerang Books *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
