Description

What does supervision mean in a school setting?
How can supervision benefit staff and student wellbeing?
How can I best run supervision sessions?

Supervision is an effective way to support staff in navigating the complex experiences of simultaneously teaching and safeguarding children, but much of the existing literature on supervision can't easily be applied to school settings.

Bringing together theory and practice, this practical how-to guide includes chapters on why supervision is so important for staff and student wellbeing, what qualities make for an ideal supervisor, how to adapt supervision for in-person and online settings, as well as criteria for an optimum supervision environment and suggested material to include in supervision sessions.

A guide to embedding staff supervision in primary or secondary schools to support staff and pupil mental health and wellbeing

About the Author
Hollie Edwards is Director of Mental Health and Wellbeing, Senior Leader and Counsellor and Supervisor at Herne Bay Junior School in Kent. As part of her efforts to embed a whole school approach to mental health, she developed a supervision model that would be suitable for education staff. In 2019, her school achieved Silver status for The Carnegie Centre of Excellence Mental Health in Schools award and then Gold status in December 2020.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
