Description

This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE)

The Crow and the Pitcher is a retelling of an Aesop fable in which a crow must be very clever and persistent to have a drink of water.

Reading Champion offers independent reading books for children to practise and reinforce their developing reading skills.

Fantastic, original stories are accompanied by engaging artwork and a reading activity. Each book has been carefully graded so that it can be matched to a child's reading ability, encouraging reading for pleasure. Perfect for 5-7 year olds or those reading book band white 10.

About the Author
Sheryl lives in Liverpool with her husband Phil and four children Sean, Bethany, Joey and new arrival Katy. Having completed a degree in English and Psychology she enjoyed working as a Primary School Teacher before going on a career break to bring up her young family. This also allowed more time for her passion of writing. Sheryl's literary influences include Enid Blyton -whose books she loved as a child and now enjoys reading to her own children. She also admires the work of Julia Donaldson. However her greatest influences are her children - who provide the inspiration and ideas for most of her stories. Originally from Wiltshire, Emma has been making drawing in pyjamas look good since graduating in Illustration from Middlesex University in 1994. Her dedication to her work means she selflessly faces an arduous everyday commute from bedroom to box room to create her designs. Due to her EXTREMELY short attention span, Emma works in a huge variety of styles and mediums. Whilst usually a right-hander, she sometimes draws with her left hand to achieve a looser line style. When she's not drawing, she does voluntary work as an 'Item Recovery Specialist' for her young daughter. She is prolific at locating a gazillion-million-billion items lost around the house...or in the car...or thrown into trees. Emma is a recovering caffeine addict and is skilled at eating Biscoff Spread straight from the jar. She lives in Kettering with her VERY lazy spaniel 'Betty' who offers very little in the way of constructive criticism!

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
