In contemporary European societies the question of racism, linked to the politicisation of migration, is a major issue in social and political debate. If, ultimately, it begs more questions that it answers that is as it should be for much of the research on which such answers will depend has yet to be undertaken. The volume is undoubtedly one of the most useful contributions to the European debate on racism and migration in recent years.
