About the Author
Thomas Ivester, M.D., M.P.H is Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill. Dr Ivester serves as Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Medical Affairs for UNC Hospitals. His work heavily emphasizes healthcare quality and patient safety. Patrice M. Weiss, M.D., FACOG is Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Virginia Tech University Carilion Clinic, Roanoke, VA and Chief Medical Officer, Carilion Clinic. Dr Weiss serves as Chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Committee. Paul A. Gluck, M.D. is in private group practice in Miami and is a clinical associate professor at the University of Miami. Dr Gluck is past chair of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Committee on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and the Subcommittee on Patient Safety.
