Description

Probate and Private Client applies a practical approach to a range of probate and private client topics. The course book describes the different types of powers of attorney including LPAs as well as practical issues relating to the assessment of capacity. Inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax are also explained.

The powers and potential liabilities of personal representatives are described, together with the procedures for obtaining the different types of grant. Practical issues involved in administering an estate are discussed, including deeds of variation and disclaimers. The main inheritance tax forms are explained. Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 are reviewed. The course book also considers the rights of unmarried partners in inheritance and introduces contentious probate. Finally, the course book discusses some key issues involved in making probate practice profitable.

The course book is supported by a number of activities and links to practice which reflect the authors' wide-ranging experience in probate and private client practice.

Probate and Private Client is the recommended textbook for the CILEX Professional Stage Probate and Private Client module, but it will also provide invaluable guidance for law students and other practitioners who are seeking to develop and update their practical and commercial skills in this area.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
