Description

Pop-ups are ingenious mechanical paper devices that are designed to surprise, entertain and educate, and this informative practical guide reveals all the secrets of making them yourself. Projects begin with basic mechanisms such as the V and A fold, and then progress on to more complex paper engineering involving pivots, layers and tab pulls. Every section includes an inspirational gallery of work from established paper engineers and pop-up artists. Learn the mechanics of making your own paper pop-ups and novelty cards, with over 100 innovative techniques and projects to follow. The book opens with a fascinating history of paper engineering and gallery pages featuring work from the best pop-up artists to inspire your own designs. It features exciting pop-up projects of every level, from simple cards to complex architectural designs, and includes useful tips on choosing paper and card, and a guide to materials, techniques and troubleshooting. Whether you want to make a simple children's birthday card, a set of elegant wedding invitations or a complete pop-up book of your own design, this step-by-step volume will be a constant reference.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
