Description

Are some plants aphrodisiacs, or is that just a myth? Discover which common garden plants and favorite edibles have that ""something extra,"" and why. Plants With Benefits is filled with lush photography, growing tips, and recipes for preparing teas, potions and tasty treats for your pleasurable use. ""Filled with little-known secrets, growing tips and titilating tidbits, PLANTS WITH BENEFITS is a must-have catalog of plants that will satisfy all your libidinous botanical curiosities. Good luck not getting emotionally invested."" James Baggett, Editor, Country Gardens magazine

""Don't bother with the oysters and puffer fish! According to my friend Helen Yoest, you can turbocharge your love life with some garlic, ginger, asparagus, pine nuts, and (of course) bananas. A veritable Garden of Eden awaits in your own yard."" Steve Bender, Senior Writer, Southern Living magazine

" Plants with Benefits: An Uninhibited Guide to the Aphrodisiac Herbs, Fruits, Flowers & Veggies in Your Garden is a fun read, perfect for a long summer afternoon. And you might be inspired to grow yet another plant. Who knows how it will benefit you!" -- Chris Eirschele * Helen Yoest's Plants With Benefits is an Uninhibited Garden Guide *
"Plants with Benefits is filled with lush photography, growing tips, and recipes for preparing teas, potions, and tasty treats for the reader's pleasurable use. Yoest helps the reader discover which common garden plants and favorite edibles have that "something extra," and why.

This is the first book about selecting garden plants for their sex appeal. Plants were selected for a number of reasons, but primarily because they affect brain chemistry by directly increasing blood flow to sex organs , or are psychologically suggestive because of aroma (lavender, cardamom, almonds) or shape (banana, fig, avocado). Readers will learn what all the female arousal talk is all about, what was bad news for Aztec virgins and what was Casanova's secret weapon." * What was Casanova's Secret Weapon? *
This is hands down our new favorite gardening book. Noted garden expert and gardening author Helen Yoest's newest title takes a dip into our pool of temptation, exploring the aphrodisiac potential of 45 (mostly) common plants. With instructions on growing and harvesting conditions, it's more than another guide to natural aphrodisiacs, it's a gardening manual at it's most provocative and delicious, (the book includes several recipes to inspire an appetite as well as a green thumb). Yoest's approach to the topic is that of a woman both charmed and bemused. It's as though she's considering the sensual side of her beloved plants for the first time and we're along for the ride as she makes some unusual discoveries, like the thought that celery might help a man attract women by enhancing the production of the male pheromone androstenone. Plants with Benefits is an incredibly fun read and it's one we think is a must for any aphrodisiac enthusiast with a yearning to dig their hands in the soil. 4/1/14 * Plants With Benefits - an aphrodisiac guide to gardening *
"Author Helen Yoest has a playful sense of humor that's necessary when writing about phallic fruits, virile vegetables, and flirtatious flowers. She coyly profiles 45 plants, from cloves to coffee, known for their aphrodisiacal qualities, laying bare their stimulating properties. In addition, 19 recipes are included for readers eager to cook up some romance. It's a fun read." -- Pam Penick * Read This: A summer round-up of gardening books *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
