About the Author
Caroline Cox holds an A.B., an M.A., and a Ph.D. in history from the University of California at Berkeley. She is an assistant professor of history at the University of the Pacific and has taught at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of San Francisco. Author of many articles and book reviews focused on American history, Cox has written one upcoming book about the Continental army. She is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Military History and has taught courses on subjects ranging from the Civil War era to American cultures to U.S. military history. Ken Albala holds a B.A. from George Washington University, an M.A. from Yale University, and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. Albala is an associate professor and chair of the history department of the University of the Pacific. Author of more than 15 book chapters and articles, he has written three books about the history of food during the Renaissance and edited two others.
