Whilst in prison during a stint in solitary confinement, declining the bible he was offered, on a whim he chanced it and asked for a dictionary instead, affording him an ability with language that would shape his life far beyond his station through writing. One Off debuted at Live Theatre, Newcastle in November 2022 to acclaim from critics and audiences.
