Richard Cullen originally hails from Leeds in the heartland of Yorkshire. Oath Bound, his debut historical adventure novel, was longlisted for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize 2022. Oath Bound is a terrific novel. Fast-paced and enthralling, the tale of Styrkar the Dane, the Red Wolf, charges along like a Frankish knight bearing down on a defenceless enemy. It's a brutal yet compelling tale, and one that gripped me from the first page to the last. The ending came far too quickly and I am looking forward to seeing what fate has in store for Styrkar as he heads towards an uncertain and dangerous future in the next book -- Paul Fraser Collard, author of Fugitive
