North Cork is a region with many stories to tell. There are hundreds of roads to travel down and numerous historical spaces to admire. The impressive scenery casts a hypnotic spell on the explorer. The region is defined by the meandering River Blackwater and its multiple tributaries and mountainous terrain to the north. It borders four counties: Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. This book examines a hudred or so postcards in North Cork, many of which were taken c. 1900-20, and some of their historical contexts.
