About the Author

Ann Blair is the Carl H. Pforzheimer University Professor in the Department of History at Harvard University. She is the author of Too Much to Know: Managing Scholarly Information before the Modern Age. Nicholas Popper is an associate professor of history at the College of William & Mary and the author of Walter Ralegh's "History of the World" and the Historical Culture of the Late Renaissance.
