Description

Meet Murphy ... the unluckiest dog in Ireland!

Whatever could go wrong, would always go wrong,

when I was around.

Wherever I set a paw,

bad luck was always sure to follow.

We called it, 'Murphy's law'!

A picture book for young readers about an accident-prone dog whose tail is always getting him in trouble.

About the Author
Muireann is a children's author and performer. Although a Cork City native, she spent much of her childhood in the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht in Kerry where her father's family are from and is a proud Irish speaker. When she's not writing books, dancing about on your TV screen or cooking up new shows or ideas, you'll find her in the sea, doodling in her sketchbook or most likely running around after her young and very energetic sons on the beaches of Tramore, Co. Waterford. She hopes that this book will be the perfect excuse to fulfil a lifelong dream of getting a puppy and calling him Murphy!

Reviews

teeny dog lovers are set for a wagtastic time with a sweet children's book ... charming adventure

-- Sunday World

We really loved this story. We'd give it 10 out of 10. It's a great story for all ages. Ben, who is 8, loved reading it to his sisters who are 3 and 6. Top marks from us! By Ben, 2nd class St Brigid's NS, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow

-- Seomra Ranga

funny and heartwarming ... cleverly illustrated by Paul Nugent who has captured each of Murphy's mishaps with a light touch but plenty of detail making sure that there is plenty of laughter as we read

-- Armadillo Magazine

a dog-lover's delight ... a celebration of friendship and being happy in your own skin/fur coat

-- Evening Echo

a delightful little story about a pup called Murphy who is down on his luck. As an ode to the adage 'anything that can go wrong will go wrong', wherever Murphy and his owner Mary go, bad luck seems to follow. But they are determined to get to the root of ail the chaos that ensues around them because Murphy isn't a bad pup, just one with bad luck. Paul Nugent's illustrations are full of expressive characters and amusing scenarios with little Easter eggs scattered throughout the pages of typical Irish pantry fillers, because what beach picnic would be complete without a bag of 'Tayters'. An adorable storybook about the bond between animal and owner with a lovely sentiment of how to turn a negative into a positive and see the glass as half full. And if one thing is for certain it's that "puppy hugs always make humans happy". How true a statement. Recommended for ages three to six years

-- Irish Examiner

a special new book written by Muireann Ni Chiobhain. Murphy's Law is a delightful story, beautifully illustrated by Paul Nugent, a book guaranteed to engage children's interest

-- The Munster Bookshelf, Munster Express

a charming story and colourful, child-friendly illustrations make this a real winner

-- Irish Independent

a cute and colourful picture book filled with joy and laughter

-- Sara Aylward-Brown, Dubray Books, in the Sunday Times Ireland

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
