Description
This book demonstrates how to practically apply multiscale modeling to process safety, including problem-solving techniques and troubleshooting on topics such as how a flammable vapor cloud might behave if ignited, and on toxicity and air expulsion modeling and modeling jet and pool fires using computational fluid dynamics.
About the Author
Arnab Chakrabarty is a Consultant at Process Systems Enterprise. Previously he has worked as a Process Technology Engineer at MEMC Electronic Materials and as a Project Consultant/Scientist, for Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. M. Sam Mannan, PhD, PE, CSP, was a chemical engineering professor and director of the Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center at Texas A&M University. He was an internationally recognized expert on process safety and risk assessment. His research interests included hazard assessment and risk analysis, flammable and toxic gas cloud dispersion modeling, inherently safer design, reactive chemicals and runaway reactions, aerosols, and abnormal situation management.
