Description

What is money, where does it come from, what is its purpose? Does it increase national and international inequalities? For many, these are technical questions, even boring. Economists, as to them, disagree on the meaning to be given to the functions of money. However, its reality, which determines the concrete living conditions of each and every person, as well as those of the peoples of the planet, deserves to be discussed. Widely, democratically. Remy Herrera's book analyzes how the changes of the capitalist world system has consolidated, over the decades, the supremacy of the U.S. dollar, but also how this hegemony has recently been challenged, both by rising State resistance initiatives and by the emergence of crypto-currencies, which raises questions. With a rigorous reflection, addressing economic, historical and geopolitical aspects, the author explains how the currency, a tool for the concentration of wealth by financial oligopolies, can also be an instrument of power and sovereignty in the service of the peoples. Reviewing the situation of each continent, this book invites us to debate the liberation from the dollar domination, the future of the euro, those of the CFA and CFP francs, of the Cuban peso or of the Chinese yuan, among others, but also the means to take in hand our collective future by mastering the money.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
