About the Author
Lilian H. Zirpolo has authored a number of articles and books on Renaissance and Baroque art, including The Historical Dictionary of Renaissance Art and The Historical Dictionary of Baroque Art and Architecture. Her interests are mainly on art patronage and collecting, as well as deformities and disabilities in art and textile history. Her articles and book reviews have been published in venues such as the Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Architectura: Zeitschrift fur Geschichte der Baukunst, Drawing, The Woman's Art Journal, The Seventeenth Century Journal, Augustinian Studies, Art History, Open Inquiry Archive, and Renaissance Quarterly.
