Description

Super-smart inventor Mariella doesn't have time for sleep in this funny and life-affirming gem from award-winning beloved author Eoin Colfer, featuring full colour illustrations from rising star Katy Halford.

Mariella loves nothing more than inventing but bedtime keeps getting in the way of all her brilliant ideas! So when Mum and Dad won't take no for an answer there's only one thing for it... Mariella has to build a rocket-powered flying suit to zap her round the world faster than the setting sun! If anyone can outsmart sleep it's Mariella. But everyone needs sleep and without it all of Mariella's brilliant ideas might just disappear. A "how to live a happy life" tale told with humour, warmth and a loveable female protagonist.

About the Author

Eoin Colfer started writing in primary school with gripping Viking stories inspired by what he was learning in class. In 2001 he published the first book in the Artemis Fowl series, which went on to sell millions of copies across the globe. He says, "I will keep writing until people stop reading or I run out of ideas. Hopefully neither of these will happen anytime soon." Eoin lives in Ireland with his wife and two children and was the Laureate na nog (Irish Children's Laureate) from 2014-2016.

Katy Halford's love of drawing started in childhood, when she would create paper worlds and play in them for hours. She went on to study illustration at Loughborough University and is fascinated with people and animals. She loves to give her characters accessories and add pattern and details to clothing.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
