Description

Follow a renegade sorcerer off the edge of the map, in a thrilling adventure perfect for fans of Scott Lynch, Brandon Sanderson and Sebastien de Castell . . .

Soldier, sorcerer and exiled nobleman Raythe Vyre has run out of places to hide. When the all-conquering Bolgravian Empire invaded, Raythe grabbed his daughter Zar and after taking part in a disastrous rebellion, they washed up on the edge of the continent.

Now he's found a chance of redemption for himself and the precociously talented Zar: a map showing a hitherto unknown place that's rich in istariol, the rare mineral that fuels sorcery. Mining it will need people, but luckily there are plenty of outcasts, ne'er-do-wells and loners desperate enough to brave haunted roads through the ruins of an ancient, long-dead civilisation, to seek wealth and freedom.

But the Bolgravian Empire is not about to let anyone defy it - and even out here, at the edge of the map, implacable imperial agent Toran Zorne has caught Raythe's scent.

The hunt is on . . .

A page-turning adventure filled with excitement and intriguing characters. For those loving an epic fantasy with plenty of sword-fights, gun-play, bare-fisted combat and battles between sorcerers, this book's for you * Amazing Stories *
I thoroughly enjoyed this magic- and quest-filled fantasy. I love the way David Hair writes . . . and the world he has created is a very solid one that holds the story perfectly * Dawn's Book Reviews *

There's a lot of cool stuff, ancient civilisations, magic, a heist, personal loss, love, and humour. I enjoyed this so much

The plot is unique, surprises showing themselves at every turn. For those loving an epic fantasy, with plenty of bare-fisted combat, this book is for you * DL GARDNER, author of Ian's Realm Saga and A Tale of the Four Wizards. *
The world-building is rich and seamlessly embedded into the story [and] David Hair delivered in plot just as well . . . I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a story full of plot twists and a high-tension struggle for survival! * THE DIGRESSIVE APPROACH *
David's world-building is exquisite. Map's Edge is the kind of fast-paced, fun read that mixes up the best of what epic fantasy has to offer. David has once again created an endearing bunch of toughies, up against towering odds stacked up, amongst them, bringing in myriad dangers caused by the vagaries of Mother Nature and traitorous human factions. This is an adventure set in a well-realised world filled with magic and wonders, about an impossible journey undertaken by a bunch of renegades, stirring up the embers of a revolution. If you like your fantasy infused with magic, explosive action and rogue, flawed heroes, Map's Edge, the first instalment in an exciting new series by David Hair, definitely fits the bill. Recommended! * SMORGASBORD FANTASIA *
Impressive * THE BOOK LOVER'S BOUDOIR *

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
