Reviews
This is an excellent addition to the HRM textbook market. It embraces an international outlook and a critical perspective to discuss the key issues that face managers when managing people in contemporary business organizations. There are very useful discussion questions, cases and exercises through the book, plus links to external sources and videos. * Rick Delbridge, Professor of Organizational Analysis, Cardiff Business School, UK *
Finally a textbook about managing people in organizations that is not only for the HR specialist but also for general managers and those interested in management - comprehensive, differentiated, and with a global perspective. The book not only covers all relevant HRM functions succinctly but also encourages the reader to engage critically with the topics addressed. * Thomas Diefenbach, Professor in Management, Charles Darwin University, Australia *
A unique Human Resource Management book aimed at business and management students and MBAs with an interest in understanding important aspects of the HR function, but not in the intricate details of it. It uses practical language instead of academic jargon and realistic examples. A refreshing change from standard HR textbooks. * Hermann Schwind, Professor Emeritus, Saint Mary's University, Canada *
