This collection of three short stories were written in response to students requests to read stories that were contemporary and relevant to their age group. So she began to write, both to entertain and educate, then through discussion develop the topics. Each story highlights the difficult problems young adults can relate to. They portray those, who in the face of sudden and unprecedented events and adversity, become unlikely stoic heroes who persevere to change the way things are.

Sheila G. Bardas is a teacher and author. Born in Manchester and raised in Huddersfield. She studied in Manchester and Newcastle, taught in England then moved to Athens, Greece where she still lives and works. Her first book The Winter Swimmers' Club 2020, published by i2i reflects the years of economic austerity and political turmoil through the eyes of those who met up to swim every Sunday during the winter months.
