Leadership skills such as negotiation, persuasion and influencing and the nature of power and the importance of understanding one's self and the communication process and project management skills and leading and managing change to improve health and wellbeing are considered. Case studies, activities and research summaries are used throughout the book to help the reader to understand how to apply the theory to practice.

About the Author
Vicki has worked in the NHS since 1985 in a number of public health roles and is now a freelance consultant. She currently is project manager for the Public Health Practitioner Training Scheme based at NHS Education South Central. She has over 20 years experience in health promotion and public health and has taught on a number of Master's programmes in public health and health promotion (including London Southbank University, Kings College) and is also a Director of the Roundhouse Consultancy MK Ltd.
