Description

It is 1859, and novice detective Campbell Lawless has just arrived in London. Woken in the middle of the night, he is summoned to the scene of a deadly act of sabotage at Euston Station by the illustrious Inspector Wardle. Wardle believes that the man found dead amidst his handiwork is the culprit, but Lawless is not so sure. So begins his hunt for elusive revolutionary Berwick Skelton, one that will thrust him into a lethal and intoxicating world of royal scandal and intrigue. Aided by a gang of street urchins and a vivacious librarian, Lawless must capture his underworld nemesis before Skelton unleashes his final vengeance...

The first book in this series had a good fan base, good sales and received particular interest from Barnes and Noble. Appeals to fans of Kate Griffin, Alex Grecian, M.R.C. Kasasian, George Mann and Oscar de Muriel. This is a strong historical thriller that will sit well alongside Titan's popular Sherlock Holmes and other period mystery series. Described as "fine, extravagant and thoroughly enjoyable" by The Scotsman, and "First-rate Victorian crime fiction" by The Herald.

The shipping was just superior

The shipping was just superior; not even one of the books was in contact with the shipping box -anywhere-, not even a corner or the bottom, so all the books arrived in perfect condition. The international shipping took around 2 weeks, so pretty great too.
