His projects have taken him to the suburbs of Paris, the favelas of Brazil, the Israeli-Palestinian border, the streets of Tokyo, New York's Times Square, and beyond.
He has won the TED prize; created the biggest illegal exhibition ever,; been nominated for an Oscar alongside French New Wave legend Agnes Varda; created art for the 2016 Rio Olympics; made headlines with an installation along the US-Mexico border wall; opened a restaurant for refugees in Paris; been named one of TIME's 100 most influential people in 2018; and acted as an official photographer of the Academy Awards after party two years running.
