Description

Daniel Brac goes to South America to restore a major painting. But he is also on a mission: he must redeem his life-long cowardice and hunt the war criminal who murdered his father. To forge his courage he seeks out Manku Yupanqui, the only hero never to have known fear. So begins Daniel's odyssey - an epic voyage across the primal landscape of politics and religion, culture and morality, spirituality and sexuality.

Reviews
'Farhi's massive novel is an erotic and violent experience... the story breathes life into extraordinary characters.' The Daily Telegraph 'Mystical, poetic and violent.' The Observer 'Full of energy and an all-embracing, visionary humanity.' Tom Aitkin, TLS 'A powerful and eloquent writer ... bears comparison with the best of Graham Greene.' London Magazine 'Farhi's language positively sings. He is, in fact, a world class writer. He has a profound understanding of history, and writes with heart and passion. We can read his books the same way we read Dostoevski.' Sharon Olinka
